Shaping the future with new visions and strategies
From one crisis to the next?
After the last few years in crisis mode, the world of work has been turned upside down. The massive cuts of the last two years have left their mark on employees and managers. Many companies are struggling with change, some have just been able to re-establish themselves, but we are already running into the next crisis. There is no going back to the former “normal”. Many efforts from before the pandemic have been implemented overnight, e.g. Home office and a culture of trust instead of control mechanisms. Right now is the time to proactively shape the future. Renewal from within instead of short-term adaptation to external circumstances demands new skills from all employees. What’s next and where to go?
What remains from the home office?
Many found the time in the home office and in virtual work positive. A new form of independence and personal responsibility at work brought positive impulses and motivation for many. Even companies that didn’t allow home office days a few years ago have now been taught a lesson, as productivity has increased for some and some have been able to do more. Although the joy of working together with colleagues in the office is great, the desire for a hybrid model of working from home remains. A new work culture of personal responsibility is emerging, which at the same time promotes motivation and meaningfulness. The time is ripe for a living culture of trust in companies.
What about leadership?
The role of managers has taken on a new aspect. Working from home requires managers to rethink their approach from control to a culture of trust and motivation. Especially in times of crisis, new skills such as creativity and innovative spirit are needed. The main task of managers is now to enable them, to promote them and to live creativity proactively. A new era of leadership is developing, where it is important and essential to create visions and design implementation strategies.
And what about the new world of work?
Many years ago it became fashionable to create a new world of work. So far, the visions are neither known nor visible. In the time of the pandemic, many people questioned their job. Values and the inner attitude towards a career have changed. What is needed now is a modern working world in which people work using their talents and talents and experience appreciation in their work. Away from competitive power and career aspirations. The grand vision has been left behind by the adjustments to the crisis and changes caused from outside. A world in which people can freely develop their talents and talents, where the meaning of the work includes the actual motivation, where the work is clearly valued and leadership takes place at eye level or even in a team.
